Hello All.

2021 has started with optimism over the vaccinations and lets hope that the world comes back to a normal live and we can hug and embrace each other again.

During the Holidays I had time to work on a new release later in the news letter more info. And we have signed a great new artist to Groove "Guy-lian" we are
pre-paring his first release that should be ready this month! Watch out for this on our new releases page :-) We hope to add it this week.

And we have added all 6 titles of the LittlÁntenna/rec label. A small Belgium label that releases music in a limited 200 copies CD (real CD) amounts.
The CD's look beauty full and many titles are really cool.

And last month the annual "Schallwelle wahlen" started!
And it will run until mid January so time to vote if you want to.
A special edition of Dreamscape with releases from Groove from the GR-295 to The GR-301 is now online and a good way to refresh you memory of these albums for this years Schallwelle Elections.

And I would not be who I am if I was not planning an E-Day in May 2021. My hopes are that we can make it happen. Lets hope the world will be in such a state that we can have it!!

Shipping rates!
For the first time in 4 years we have to change some of our shipping rates!

There was little to no change in shipping rates for parcels all around Europe and the rest of the world as we had a stunning year with the amount of parcels we shipped. Even during the worst shut downs we where able to send out our parcels! In total over 1500 big and small made it to you our costumers. And over 95% arrived in time. Thanks for your confidence in us.

Sadly especially the 1 to 2 CD shipping rates through Europe and the World have changed due to the fact that they are now considered parcels instead of letters because of the goods they contain!

And all shipping rates to the UK due to Brexit (although we kept it as low as possible!) are also effected so check them at our site.

The main music was recorded during my performance in the Byss Studio of Bas Broekhuis on the 28th of November 2020. When I listened to it at home I noticed I was alone on stage.

When you do an entire solo live concert (without backing tracks or computer) then during the build up/breaking down of the music there are gaps that you don't notice during the creation of the music on stage. They come apparent when you listen back to the performance.

I am seldom alone on stage in a complete live setting, because making music with Frank, Harold, Eric or especially Stephan Whitlan creates a symbioses that's not there when you are alone on stage. I only have 2 hands, one brain and not the virtuoso as some of the musicians in our scene (or they think they are).

So after listening to the live set I felt it needs to be filled with additional parts. In it's original form as a concert it works fine! For music that you want to be listened to over and over again I wanted it to be a bit more evocative/evolving.

So the Cd has the famous "Tangenizing" process, parts of the music have been added later to the original concert music. I never had problem with this from other artists as it makes for a better repeated listening. In 99% of the cases it gets better. So I added parts (mind you live played!!).

Littl'antenna is a small new label in Belgium that releases music that was most of the time played during their concerts. The 4 releases are great if you like the more darker side of Berlin School and Ambient. The series is beautifuly made and the CD's are all limited to only 200 Copies!! So a nice collectors item. Priced at only € 12.90! A great new initiative from our southern neighbours.

THE AMNIS INITIATIVE - Ejection - 46465

On September 2, 1859 there was a huge solar storm. A so-called solar coronal mass ejection hit the Earth's magnetosphere, causing the largest recorded geomagnetic storm. Richard C. Carrington was one of the astronomers who observed it. You can hardly imagine what would happen at this time if this happened again: for example, satellites will fail and there will be hardly any power left. This solar storm, which is called The Carrington Event, inspired Dennis Lodewijks, the man behind The Amnis Initiative, to make his album Ejection. It is the first CD from our fellow countryman on which he can make full use of the advantages of his updated studio. That is good to hear. I know Dennis's music as a wonderful mix between the symphonic grandeur of Vangelis and the melodic work of Jean Michel Jarre. This is no different on Ejection. The strong title piece, which is also the opening track, is a fine mix between the two styles: the rhythm and effects of Jarre and the melody lines of Vangelis. The subject is portrayed excellently in the threatening Solar Storm. The music of Vangelis is present in Liberation (the great sounds and the Yamaha CS80 synthesizer sounds). The Greek has done a lot of work with choirs. We will choose this in Offline. Only Dennis does not use a physical choir but software. It sounds amazing. Total Blackout has heavy percussion. This brings me a bit to Vangelis' early solo music. In A Sky Full Of Stars we hear CS80 again in an excellent, relaxed atmosphere. A New Dawn and Final Warning show that in my opinion Dennis would not make a bad impression as a composer of film music: I feel right in the middle of the film Blade Runner. The last piece Ejection-Sunspot Remix is a dance remix of the first song. That is not my thing, but it is well done. That applies to this entire CD. I am impressed again. The music is also available in 5.1 surround sound.

LAMBERT - Drachenreise - 36232

In the nineties I came into contact with the music of the German electronic musician Lambert Ringlage (better known by his first name). His music contained beautiful sequencer lines as well as cool melodies and reminded me at several times of the work of Tangerine Dream from the eighties. His last solo CD was released more than 20 years ago. Over the years he has worked a lot with others, including in the duo Hypnosphere and he was busy with his label Spheric Music. With Drachenreise he is back as a solo artist. He immediately makes a good impression in the opening song Corona. This has a special TD touch. The beautiful guitar solo is played by none other than Gandalf. The hint to TD can also be heard in the sequences in Stairs and the chords in Motion. The sequences work very strongly in Hill. To be honest, I don't think all songs on Drachenreise are equally strong. Sometimes I hear a slight New Age atmosphere (Estranho, Source). At other times, such as Call, there is more threat. Jean Michel Jarre and Wavestar are also greeted in the title piece. It's nice that Lambert is back in the solo field. Drachenreise may be slightly weaker than his earlier CDs, but definitely worth a listen for people who like melodic electronic music with strong sequences.
