Hi All

We have the new Robert Schroeder - C'est Magique in stock.

And a new release from Tangerine Dream is announced.
Tangerine Dream - Klangtraube (cd)

On the occasion of the 4th Edgar Froese Memorial Day (EFMD) on 26th
January 2019 at the Ballhaus Rixdorf in Berlin, Bianca Froese-Acquaye
invited Hans Joachim Roedelius, 85 years old electro pioneer of the
first hour and co-founder of the legendary Berlin Zodiak Free Arts Lab
(Zodiak Club) in 1969, the birth place of many Krautrock and
electronic bands, even for Edgar Froese and his future band Tangerine Dream.

Hans-Joachim's soulful piano playing blends in fantastically with the
rhythmic beats and sounds of Paul Frick, member of the Berlin based
Techno ensemble Brandt Brauer Frick, who already appeared several
times as guest musician at live concerts with Tangerine Dream, and the
distinctive synth sounds of Thorsten Quaeschning, long-time member and
musical director of Tangerine Dream. Hoshiko Yamane, also a member of
Tangerine Dream since 2011, completes the session with her
extraordinary violin play by adding her special timbre we all know so
well from her TD sessions.

The KLANGTRAUBE is a very unique, almost meditative piece of music
that invites the listener to dream. In view of the very special time
in which we are all currently living in, worldwide, this piece of
music reflects the spirit of the Zeitgeist very well.

A piece of music for dreaming and reflection, a sound journey into
another dimension, wide and intangible, like the hearts and minds that
will be opened. A dignified and extraordinary session of four
exceptional musicians in memory of Edgar Froese.

Slowly parcels with ordered CD's are coming in.
Funny enough the shipments from the UK are the fastest :-)
At this moment Germany and Belgium are very slow!
But all new releases are on their way.

A lot of new additions in the Catalog.

44908 Bessell, Dave - Reality Engine

Despite a fairly slim discography, Dave Bessell is a brilliant artist
whose next album we are impatiently awaiting. And it will happen on
April 17 in DiN's bins, in a limited edition of 500 CDs and in
high-quality download. Your favorite columnist had the chance to hear
this REALITY ENGINE which continues where Black Horses of the Sun has
left us 5 years ago. Inspired by the literary works of Jorge Luis
Borges, the brothers Grimm and Lord Dunsany, this latest album by the
English musician reproduces this very eclectic ambiences in the works
of these writers. Between ethereal phases, even very lyrical's, and
heavy atmospheres, there are rhythms. Sometimes indecisive and often
catchy for the neurons, they remain heavy with an arrhythmic vision
which is based on these dark movements of the England School. The
ambiences and their textures are filled to the brim with essences and
influences from the label of Ian Boddy, with a creativity that has n
othing to envy to the explorations of modular synths by the artists of
this label.
A layer filled with distorted rustles falls abruptly on the Codex
opening. Another heavier one imposes its disturbing presence by
purring loudly like a ghost ship in thick fog. We don't even feel the
illusion of a ground that Codex is already transposing itself for a
more ethereal cosmos where the stars twinkle and where the calls of
the boats are more distant. Arpeggios parade through this decor to
make a Halloween style melody tinkle. Codex changes its skin, like the
other 50 minutes of REALITY ENGINE incidentally. Through and on
drifting layers, like a boat in absolute darkness, the atmospheres of
this first track install a climate which reaches a level of anxiety
with a sound rise where all the instruments converge towards a
nebulous point. Heavenly voices and a harp play with the scenarios of
our imagination in a sound texture worthy of the great albums of the
English label. The Silver Thread follows with deaf and intense blows,
which surprise the hearing after such a finale, bringing in its
ambiances these crystalline stars which fooled our imagination in
Codex. Despite these sepulchral knocks, The Silver Thread perpetuates
the indecisive ambiences which are at the origin of the first 10
minutes of this latest album by Bessell before embracing a down-tempo
wrapped in a creative fabric of psybient. Psybient with a nice tint of
anxiety film! There is a movement of the sequencer here which is very
Tangerine Dream, not to mention Arc. This movement bypasses the seat
of the ambiances of the title with a delicate stroboscopic thread
which doesn't always manage to contain the lamentations of the synths.
I insist on emphasizing the richness of the sound textures of this
album which sets up a marvelous dark cinematographic environment. We
hook instantly on Ghost of Lost Cities which is born of shrill
spectral lamentations that synth pads are wrapping up of caresses from
rev erberations' shadows. A slight indecision and up! Ghost of Lost
Cities enters the bowels of Arc with a plethora of electronic
percussions, and their tonal variants, and on a sequencer which
disjoins each of its ideas in structures sometimes rhythmic and
sometimes ambient. A guitar launches loud riffs in a setting
reminiscent of the soft and heavy rhythms of Redshift. Excellent!
Sleeping Air Awakes doesn't do things by half either by offering a
changing structure which is based on a cabalistic cinematic vision
where the demons prepare the buffet of Satan. The tonal flora is
impeccable with elements that ululate and shiver. The percussions
personify falls of sound masses which mistreat goblins howling with
fright. A sequence is dancing slightly in this setting, perfectly
imitating the confusion of ambiences and of those rhythmic fires that
light up a bit everywhere in the 5 minutes (only!) of Sleeping Air
Awakes whose rhythmic crescendo is simply breathtaking.
A Man is a Small Thi ng and the Night is Large and Full of Wonders is
a title structured on King Crimson or Markus Reuter vibes, especially
because of the guitars. And much like Arc and/or Redshift, the
floating atmospheres put on their big boots to advance heavily towards
a final that refuses to get out of its introductory bed. Oh, how
wonderful Raven King is! Its introduction, woven with fascinating
lamentations of a guitar string that is tortured, gradually transforms
under the insistence of a series of muffled beats which advances this
membrane of atmospheres. A very vintage keyboard makes me smile at the
same time when heavy percussions act like an uncertain walk in the
hesitant corridors of Redshift. This heavy and slow rhythm ends up
becoming catchy with a collective of sequences and percussions which
beats in these very vintage keyboard layers. Simply superb! The
Fountains are Singing shares its dark ambiances with a guitar tortured
by its desire to break with the poetry of a fluty melody. The T ower
opens with a crash to exhibit its 6 minutes imagined in sordid
ambiences. Certainly, the Mellotron embellishes the moods with a misty
fluty melody while a good keyboard extends its notes like a lover its
roses. But there is something evil in this decor where the vile and
the pure are defying each other without going for a dramatic
outpouring. I don't know why, but there's something very Mike Oldfield
about the guitar that leads Neverwhere's destiny to the REALITY ENGINE
ending. The solos are very inspiring and seem to cry on an idle
structure of rhythm, a bit minimalist, pushed by muffled bass
pulsations. A good and very gothic coat envelops this incessant march
which accepts a jerky movement of orchestrations where the guitar and
the keyboard unite their destinies in a final which has nothing to do
with the dark violence, sometimes repressed and other times not, which
dictates tone to a custom album for fans of Node, Arc, Redshift and
Ian Boddy. The best of the England cream! Excellent one Dave!

Robert Schroeder - C'est Magique

Ah, this Robert Schroeder! This magnificent chameleon in the realm of
EM, who celebrates his 40 years of career, saw the title of the best
EM album last year slip through his fingers in favor of Iconic by
Danger In Dream. He returns even more in strength with a very serious
option for the album of 2020. In a new sound environment, which
follows the ideas and the traces of Fata Morgana, C'EST MAGIQUE offers
another palette of sounds of incredible richness in an assortment of
EDM rhythms where the ambiences of the Berlin School are nourished by
addictive tonal grains and innovative dance rhythms from new planets
around. The structure of electronic percussions on this album bursts
of liveliness with so much resemblance to the acoustic drums,
especially at the level of manual percussions, that I hooked to dance
hymns without any hesitation. Apart from these percussions, the sound
fauna is extremely rich which it is impossible to describe without
forgetting 90% of its impact. A little more advanced than in Fata
Morgana, it captivates rhythms that sometimes even reach the nirvana
of frenzy. Robert immerses us in spheres of dance that flirt with
floating dance, like tribal hymns without forgetting rock and a few
rare intrusions into the universe of sequenced rhythms and especially
in dances of the future. The synth solos are breathtaking and weave
this link that unites the Berlin School to this EDM side widely used
here. As much as Fata Morgana has been powerful, so much this album is
with a notch higher due to this enchanting musical panorama which is
sewn in complexity and where everything gets unstitch in a fascinating
musicality. And always keeping this emotional bond that unites the
contemporaneity of his works with the Berlin School, Robert Schroeder
delivers in C'EST MAGIQUE a splendid album which infiltrates this Top
5 of his best albums since his rebirth in 2005.
It's in limbo that a cold synth blade is born. Like a switch that is
set to ON, it radiates the listening room, as much physical as
virtual, with a languid breath of a saxophone along the addition of a
rather suggestive female voice whispering C'est Magique. A musical
veil is woven before our ears with a synth line which takes the
ascendancy over these ambiences by multiplying the complaints of a
sharp steel tone which wander aimlessly in an orchestral mist that we
already know, to have heard it so often in these ambient moments from
Robert Schroeder. We hear C'est Magique a second time and this
saxophonist with a soul of blues returns to haunt our nostalgia with
beautiful soft solos floating in this invasive mist became a bench of
melodious orchestrations which roll like these astral waves in the
grandeur of the cosmos. We hear muffled knocks while less discreet
percussions are not afraid to sculpt a good down-tempo. The percussive
and guitar effects give a very melancholic dimension to this track
which constantly loses its rhythm i c orientations. We arrive in a
short phase of distraction, around 7:30 minutes, where the synth
whines with these slow tortuous movements of a cello. Subsequently,
C'est Magique advances with a new vision, a new musical skin. The
percussions beat in layers of orchestrations too slow for them, too
slow for this lively but static rhythm which accepts this new loads of
keyboard and piano chords while very slowly we overflow towards the
opening of Magnetic Streams. The flow of its sound waves is like a
circle of reverberations whose broad rays animate a tonal flora filled
of organic rustles, breezes and synth tunes that can easily be
confused with a dialogue between extraterrestrials. We don't really
waste our time procrastinating about this probability that the rhythm
is already hooked with tap dancing whose articulated flow brings out
real percussions that dance the tap dance in a figure of animated
rhythm. The structure can bring up memories of Tangerine Dream in the
last phase of t h e title Poland, from the eponymous album. It's a
good electronic rock that thrills in a dense ambient structure that
literally gives room for percussion and sequences that spasm in
symbiosis in a superb moment that gives us a splendid 21 minutes of EM
filled with the pure genius of Robert Schroeder. The synth solos
always have the air of a slightly drunk saxophonist singing on musical
textures of an enchanting universe while sequences and percussions
accelerate the flow, in accordance with a contemporary vision of
electronic rock from this famous Poland.
In an introduction fed by the poignant textures of Solar Fields,
Spiritual Spice evolves in a good psybient universe with synth blades,
as well as good percussion and percussive effects, which give us
chills to the soul. Originally ambient, the musical texture travels to
the heart of the chills and emotions in a nice slow-tempo which is
eyeing more the intensity of the arrangements than of its rhythm. The
finale is caught up in dark breezes and drift towards Misterious
Science. This other down-tempo slowly arises from an ambient opening
animated by layers of jerky violins which camouflage the emerging
rhythm with the complicity of beautiful lunar synth solos. Mystic Dawn
infiltrates our ears with percussive effects slamming in a mist of
metallic particles that covers an abundant musical virgin forest where
the tones are just waiting to be assembled to create ambiences like
rhythms. The sound cascades pour out in reverberating noises where
fine streaks let pass a virgin choir. Manual percussion strikes with
clarity. Stimulating a bass line, they forge a cosmic Blues with
saxophone solos that charm a lascivious rhythm. Glowing Energy is a
more energetic track with a slightly Acid House Chill Out where these
arpeggios gurgling with spasms parade in a structure of progressive
Breakdance copiously sprinkled by Mexican solos. The extra-sensory
noise is equivalent to the brutality of the rhythm, even with these c
hthonian choirs, which becomes a real dance anthem for psychopaths in
the second half of its 6 minutes. Secret Elements ends C'EST MAGIQUE
with strength. The rhythm settles slowly with good percussion which
are weavers of rock visions, in the same way as the guitar loops which
roll with a slight difference in tones. But we are in a good
electronic rock with good percussive effects and sparrow's shouts to
whom lack a vocal cord. The rhythm is catchy, and the drum explosions
make it even more manly without ever overflowing. We fall into a short
phase where the song of a saw cuts this rhythm which always comes back
as strong, like these rhythms which are the dynamite of a flawless
album. Sometimes when it's too much, it's too much! But here,
everything is pleasantly balanced in order to make us live a superb 60
minutes of musical ecstasy which comes to us from another planet.
Excellent Robert Schroeder!

we can stay in the lowest shipping prices!
I am glad we are one of the few suppliers of EM that did not have to raise
their shipping prices. So for the 4rth year in a row they stay the same!!
