Ron is with a infection in bed but he wrote this E-Live piece.
E-LIVE / is it still valid without big names?
Sales for this years E-Live look very low with -50% of the normal E-Lives ticket sales!!
Until now we always saw in the last 4/6 weeks a good sales of tickets
that made E-Live and E-Day a sustainable festival but this year it didn't happen!
As it stands now, it is far from sustainable.
It looks like this year the bottom falls out under E-Live!
We hope to motivate as many people as possible to come but it looks like it is not happening.
It feels like if we don't get the BIG names in then people just stay away.
With this program and the nicer price I thought it would appeal to a nice
broad range of EM lovers. How one can get things wrong.
A loss for the scene I think, but it threatens to close this festival.
Groove can not take losses in theses amount of Euro's.
We don't get any subsidies or are supported by big companies.
Because the BIG names are going to be out of our budget with only 300 seats
and the new management of the Enck that will change their prices things look grim.
It all looks bad at this stage and we will review what we will do after 20-10.
At this moment there is also no upper room concert planned, but i am sure
those who will come will have a great musical day with 4 superb concerts.
